Fall colors are on the wildlife area.
Cranes are on the wildlife area. Best location to view cranes is off of McDonald Road in the Pike's Peak Flowage. There is a handicap viewing platform right off of McDonald Road as well as our Hazelwood Observation Platform along the ridge line on the southern part of the flowage. Click the link below for maps. Best time to view them is Sunrise and Sunset as they are coming or leaving the area for the day. During the day, cranes can be seen in surrounding farm fields and the around the wildlife area.
Dogs are welcomed on the wildlife area. Dogs must be in your control at all time whether through voice commands or with a leash.
