Updates

9/23/2023

During the Fall season here on the wildlife area, we would like to take this time to ask those who visit the wildlife area to help us spread the word and abide by these recommendations:

*If you are planning to view the migrations that are coming through the wildlife area, please remember to turn on your hazards if you are traveling slow to view. Please consider parking in parking lots along the roads to prevent traffic situations.

*Move over as best you can to allow other traffic enough room to pass. Be aware that shoulders of the roads can be soft if lots of rain has fallen, but moving over slightly can help. There are parking lots and a handicapped viewing platform along McDonald Road that are close proximity to the flowages that are easy walking should you want to take photos or see wildlife closely.

*SLOW DOWN on the wildlife area. Turtles and other wildlife will be  trying to cross as well as bikers, walkers, and other user using the roads.

*Please be respectful. Remember that wildlife area is a multi use property and we can all do our part to enjoy our time outdoors.

*Be aware that Navarino Wildlife Area is a public wildlife area and is open for hunting and trapping.  As the different hunting seasons approach different areas of the wildlife area will close to hunting. We encourage all hikers to wear bright colors and have their dogs easily identifiable. For questions on were hunting occurs on the wildlife area, please feel free to contact NNC at 715-758-6999.

Thank you for helping us keep Navarino Wildlife Area a place that people enjoy coming to!

Dogs are welcomed on the wildlife area. Dogs need to be under your control at all times whether through leash or commands.

For any questions, please contact the NNC staff at 715-758-6999.
